Application - Any person interested in becoming a member must complete the current application. Failure to accurately follow the instructions on the application or any false or misleading information will be cause for a rejection of the
application. Background - All potential applicants will be subject to a background check with the Texas Department of Public Safety. Some applicants may be subject for fingerprints to determine their identity. The cost of the fingerprinting will be at the expense of the applicant. If the applicant feels that he or she had something on their background, they should advised CFD. Physical Agility Test - All applicants must complete the department P.A.T within the allotted time given. Failure to complete the P.A.T or failure to follow instructions by the proctor may disqualify you as an applicant. The P.A.T will be given once a month or whenever deemed necessary. Oral Review Board - All applicants will attend an oral review with members/officers of the department. All documents must be brought to the officers along with the oral review board members recommendation for the applicant. The majority vote between officers will decide the outcome of the applicant. If a tie would ever occur the fire chief will act as the tie breaker. General - Must have certification requirements within 14 to 16 months. Attendance at in-house training sessions is a must. Obtain Class B License within 6 months. Must have the ability to work overnight shifts at the station as well as respond to emergency calls.
